The early version of the 7.3 engine is different from the later version and both software and the engine harness are different from the later kit versions. You will need a dedicated kit for an early engine.
The intake manifold is a great design and help producing the excellent torque figures we find.
Fitting our control pack to a standard engine, we saw torque figures around 550 lb.ft. and power reaching 500 hp, all according to the STP norm.
When fitted with the new BTR ‘Truck Norris’ stage 1 camshaft you can expect an increase of torque to around 620 lb.ft. and power around 590 hp with the stock exhaust manifolds.
Among the options of ECU tunes is one made for the engine fitted with the new BTR “Truck Norris’ camshaft and the new Ford Performance intake manifold and its 92 mm throttle body as well. Changing from the stock exhaust manifolds to our dyno long tube exhaust manifolds, performance for this engine increased to 626 hp and 645 lb.ft of torque.
Our aim is to supply our customers with a well engineered, high quality and easy to install kit, offering very good drive-ability straight out of the box.
A base kit includes these parts:
– OBR Euro-8+ controller with a startup tune.
– New OBR engine wiring harness (build in-house using aircraft style high quality wire).
– Power supply harness with relays for engine, fuel pump and fan.
– One NTK wide band lambda sensor for closed loop fuel control.
– 1 bar TMAP sensor.
– Communication kit OB256 for full access to the ECU calibration.
Our kits are designed to connect to standard sensors, actuators and drive-by-wire throttle body, no modifications or exchange of parts are required.
The ECU is supplied with a startup tune preloaded, either one for use with a standard crate engine or with one based on our in-house engine calibration work for various combinations of engine parts, such as for example:
– Throttle body
– Intake manifold
– Camshaft
– Naturally aspirated, supercharged or turbo charged
