Well after 2 years I sold the car to my friend Kurt and he will be moving to Pennsylvania. I told him he must come visit you guys and the shop!  I believe in the quality ENGINES YOU GUYS BUILD!      I would like to thank you both and the others in your shop for the 2 motors that you built for me the 302 went in the 77 PINTO WAGON turning consistent 11.98 with over 100- 1/4 mile runs hot lapping you all did a great job on that one, I know I am not the best customer to have but you worked with me and still do when ever I call someone is always there to listen and help, I thank you for that,, You did such a great job I went to the next stage and had you build a 418 stroker, short block and guided me with what it was capable of doing and it does do it, got that in the 88 mustang turning 10.88 in a 1/4 mile and the same thing I take my time between laps but that is a beast of a motor,, you can attach pictures from my myspace both racing and sitting. I completed the install on my 67 Camaro took it down the road just the other day and holly crap it is awesome it looks awesome the Pro-Formance of this thing is over the top. I can not say enough about how this thing performs and the look dead on perfect. If your needing a motor these guys from Jersey my home boyzzz will hooked it up. They sent me this 350 375hp turn-key gem the power is unbelievable it has exactly the throttle response I asked for the horse power dead on perfect guys thanks a ton for building the great motor. I wanted to drop you a line and tell you thanks for all the help you and your team have been in helping me select my engine and various other parts, but more importantly, how well this engine performs. This power plant has totally transformed my sluggish Bronco into a muscle truck that has caught more than one unsuspecting hotrod by surprise. It’s backed by a built C-4 auto with Hurst shifter, and a 3500 stall from Transmission Specialties, Out back is a nine inch with a Detroit locker, and 31 spline chromoly shafts. The interior was recently treated to a new dash with pieces from Auto Meter and So Cal Speed Shop, and the transfer case is shifted by a modified piece from Lokar. Suspension includes all new springs, bushings, brake lines, and drive shafts by Wild Horses.

Thanks again for all your hard work. I have gladly recommended Pro Formance to several people with projects on the books.

Hi Doug, Steve.
Well the motor is just fine.
In fact it is rather scary at full blast.
And takes me to 110 Mph in 2nd and 3rd to 160 Mph......as for 4th and 5th, are you kidding me?
I have got no where near that yet.
I am really getting into these Edelbrock Thunder Series carbs now.
I got wrong footed at first, by Edelbrock of all people. I must have got the Janitor who was holding the phones that morning for the Tech guys....Jeeeeez!

Anyhoo, the upshot is that after MUCH futsing about I am running the carbs as the standard setting, but 4% LEANER on the metering rods. The difference is amazing. The engine really barks and is super crisp.
Also I run the second WEAKEST power valve spring, forget the color now.
Another thing. The float levels are quite fussy. As the carbs come they work fine when the car is still, but they need to be at their MAXIMUM fuel level in the float bowl settings to not have the car cut out in a 90 degree turn or on a long sweeping curve.

I run a 2,1/2" diameter straight through exhaust system. This was the biggest that I could squeeze into the frame. It is bloody loud! But makes me grin. Like I imagine sex with a 18 year old girl would, hey ho, those where the days. Anyway it probably costs me less than the 18 year old.
I have almost got rid of my very low speed very light throttle demand drive line "shunting", at about 30 Mph.
Which is a royal pain in the arse.

I have also ordered the MSD knock sensor. I have used this in the past to good effect.
I think that I can dial in some more start advance and run it leaner too.

Of course the weather here is crap, as usual, and I am moving home, so not sure when that will happen.

I want to thank you for a great engine. I purchased a 347/425 in March for my Factory Five Cobra coupe. It was delivered on time and just a beautiful hunk to look at. After coupling it to the Tremec TKO 600 that you provided it was ready for the 1st. fire up on July 4th. It fired right up and put a big smile on my face. I was going to finish the car before I drove it but I couldn’t stand it. I put over 3500 miles on it this summer and fall with no problems except the coil died. The engine performs much better now with 3500 miles on it then when new. Temperatures and oil pressure are right on. I have all winter to do body work and paint; I’ll send photos when done. I did two track events, the second at NHIS 3 days ago----WOW

I want to thank all of you at Pro-Formance Unlimited for Building this beautiful engine for me. When we got it to our garage, we opened the crate and WOW the chrome shined so bright from the sun shining on it. I had to go in and get my darkest sunglasses and put them on so I could admire the excellent craftsmanship put into this engine.

Everything is so professionally assembled, I believe you folks out done yourselves on this one. It’s nice to know that when you tell someone how you want and engine built that it can actually be done, with no questions asked.

We have a saying down here in Florida…..Find someone to build it, then find someone to finish it.Also I want to thank the both of you for all the technical support you have given me.Several of my friends have stopped by and are amazed how well this engine is built All they can say is git er in and git er fired up. I love to tell people where this engine was built.

Pictures of it going into my vehicle will follow and also pictures of the original engine coming out. And I will send a video of the first road test.

Holy F***ING COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's INSANE, with a full exhaust system on it, it sounds like a dragster and the tick over is to die for.
It's won the biggest look at me factory the moment it starts up.

I haven't had the "balls" yet to drive it.
I think that a LOT more SERIOUS chassis checking is required before I drive this on the street.

So far 100% SATISFACTION guys.

Many, many thanks to Doug and to Steve and anyone else involved with this motor build.
My friends, who are pretty hard engine builders in their own ways, are open mouthed at this motor.

I will get a video made and send to you.
The link you sent to me with it running, good at that is, does NOT do your work justice.
If this runs like it sounds it will be sensational!
And I believe that it will.
It picks up revs as fast as a two stroke motorcycle engine.

I have had some serious small block Chevrolet motors built.........but this............this is in another league.

Well, Steve sorry it took so long to get with you on the first stage of our installation of the Great Create 383 you guys built for my 34 Ford. It arrived in the afternoon by UPS and we unloaded it, the UPS man and pushed it into my garage. It was like someone spread female hormones in the neighborhood, before I knew it all the men in the area picked up the scent and were drawn to my garage. First it was the UPS man refusing to leave until I opened the box, then there were 8 guys standing around waiting for me to take the cover off. I suddenly sprung to my tool box for a box knife but before I got back all my friends had popped the box top and were all standing around with a Woodie ""Cheap Male Viagra" It was a site to behold" we all stood around this beautiful motor with beer in hand and wearing sun glasses because the reflection from the motor caused extensive glare, a guy can never have to much chrome or horse power you know, we all conversed about how it will look and what I should do to the "34". You guys built one hell of a motor cant wait to get it into the car and fire that Baby up for its first run, stay tuned for the next episode, when the motor goes in and the pictures begin. In the mean time I'm going to throw a chain around it and wear it around my neck " Man Bling" PS. Steve I talked to a friend of mine Mark Archer of Camas Wa.      Just wanted to drop you guys a line and a HUGE THANK YOU on my 350/420hp motor. This 1966 Chevelle super sport was a 10 second street/strip car. It was my brothers car, then he passed away at age 44, when he died, so did the 472 cu. in. race motor.

     My goal was to put the car back on the street and just have fun with it. So I turned to Proformance Unlimited for a turnkey crate motor. All I can say is "WOW". This motor is so strong! It's a pleasure to drive on the street. With Hooker 1 5/8" Super Comp headers and a full 3" Flowmaster exhaust, it still sounds and feels like a big block, With BFG drag radials, 0-100 MPH is a blast. Second car show, took home a trophy!

After almost a year of showing the GTO around the state I just had to let you guys know that this beast is still purring away and growling at the challengers. A lot has been done to my car since the install, like a Tremec 5 speed and a Dana 60 form strange engineering. I recently picked up the car from the body shop where 4 coats of Inferno Red Crystal Pearl where added. Every show I go to put the plaque out in front to display the goods and every show I go to they all comment on how clean the engine looks and mean it sounds. I guess I've put on about 8k Miles since I installed it and it still has that get out of my way sound! Once again I can't thank you enough for making my dream come true. My name is mike and I own a 1966 2+2 K code mustang. I order a 302, 380 hp for my car. It was the best thing I could do for my car ------ it made it come alive. The motor was a perfect fit for my car.
Let me put it this way when I first got the motor in the car and running, my wife and I went for a ride and she told me it gave her anxiety attacks because of the power the motor gave the car. It may sound mean but I had a good laugh about it. Now she has no problems when she rides in it. She loves it as much as I do. I receive many complements on the motor that PROFORMANCS UNLIMITED built for me AND OF CORSE THE CAR. Great job guys.. Thank you guys again for all your help. It is not if, but when I get my next project I will buy another motor from you people.      I want to take a few minutes and thank everyone at Proformance Unlimited for their professional dedication on the 350 440HP "high roller" engine that was so skillfully assembled for my 68' Camaro. after getting the engine compartment all ready I dropped the "roller" in and it fired up on the first crank!

     I really appreciate the staff taking my calls on the questions I have had along the way. I can't wait until spring time so I can get it out and really enjoy the massive horsepower this engine is cranking out. My first small run showed me the potential this car can have; it sure was a major upgrade on the engine that was running in the car before.

Hello fellows at Proformance Unlimited!

Last year, I took my 68' Camaro apart, Replacing about 90% of the interior and had a body shop repaint and repair anything on the body that had any defects. I repainted the car dark blue with a white nose stripe and replaced all the chrome and lights.

The 383/450 HP motor I bought from you just put the icing on the cake! The power and sound made my 68' a dream come true. The motor started up as it did on my video. It runs better each time I carry it out for a drive. No adjustments so far.

Just a few lines to let you know the motor has been installed. The motor is in creditable. Although I haven't wound it over 4200 rpm. it is smooth and responsive and has a bit of an attitude. I've matched it to a 200r4 extreme duty OD transmission, and a Chevy 12 bolt possi rear-end with 4.10 gears (3000 rpm=78 mph) added a 4 row desert-cooler radiator temp runs 176 to 180 on the highway 190 around town in traffic.

Just wanted to thank you guys for the excellent work and craftsmanship. It was well worth the wait the accolades I have received many and complimentary I'll recommend you to anybody.

  This e mail goes to all at Proformance Unlimited. I recently purchased a 461 Pontiac stoker and I want to tell you that I was absolutely overcome with the performance that this motor makes. I put the motor in my 66 GTO and fired it up. On the very first try it came to life and was an instant success. At first it sounded very much like a “Pro Stocker” but after the Police came and told me to quiet it down we hooked up the rest of the exhaust, now it sounded more like a Pro Stocker with Mufflers on!
     The care and Professionalism you showed during the building process was amazing to me. In a day and age where money talks and you walk, you guys showed me how customer service is really supposed to be. The engine runs consistent at 180 degrees with 75 lbs. Of oil pressure @ 3k rpm, the vacuum canister was a necessity due to the larger cam. I have nothing but “Rave Reviews” about this engine and I hope I can generate some bus. Your way from the shows this will be in. Once again, Thanks for the experience.

Hey Guys how is every thing going? My truck is almost completed except for the paint Job. Which will be Fire Engine Red Pearle………… I have put a few more thousand in it since I've brought it home from there, I wish I could tell you every thing I've had done to it but I don't remember. But there is nothing like the sound of that motor and exhaust, That you guys did for me. She will smoke them 50 series tire at a 100mph in third gear. This thing is awesome I will bring it down for you guys to see it this summer hopefully. Right now it gets about 6 miles per gallon. Maybe you guys can put NOS on it for me. You guys are GREAT…………….

Thanks for custom building my 383-475 stroker engine, and assisting me in picking out my Art Carr 350 transmission, my 3000 stall converter and March Performance serpentine belt system.

Everyone in California thought I was crazy for purchasing a custom built engine from the east coast.  To be honest, I even had doubts at times myself.   Then, Doug, Steve and Paul e-mailed me a video of my engine running.  When I heard that baby run I knew I had done the right thing.   Before I knew it my new engine was shipped.  The day it arrived was like Christmas.  The next thing I knew, that engine was in my 64 Chevelle (O BOY)!  The first time I started it up, my wife (Lorrie) looked at me and she said she has never seen a smile on my face like that before.

As for all my friends in California, well they all want to go for a spin.  (Go Figure).  My wife is now happy because she says; I’m finely out of her kitchen and back in my garage where I belong!

Steve, Just wanted to let you know that the engine is in the Camaro. I started it up and am very impressed! It was rush to hear it run .I let it Idle for thirty five min. Now and then I INCREASE THE RPM TWO 2000,THEN 2400 ,never hit it hard, Though it was like a horse wanting to go! Hope to get it on the road very soon. The throttle response is awesome. Just wanted to drop you a letter to let you know how much I am enjoying my car after all the hard work you guys did. Not only does the engine sound great but also performs like a champ. I have more power than i feel safe using.

I have to admit I was a little nervous when the tow truck came to pick up my 1968 Dodge polara back in January. I only knew your company through what i read and saw on your web site. I was pleasantly surprised when you called to let me know that my car had arrived safely and you did a thorough inspection to make sure that no body or paint damage occurred during transit.

As you know, I kept adding more and more work to be done to the car. First  it was the engine rebuild, then the drum to disk brake conversion, then the new gas tank and sending unit, then the headers, then the leaf springs, New rear drums and rotors, and finally stall converter and high performance transmission. You handled all my  projects with enthusiasm and professionalism. When my son and I came down to New Jersey To "visit" my car, you were fantastic. You gave us the full tour of the shop, showed us my engine and what work was already completed. You guys dropped everything and treated us like "VIP"s.

Thank you so much for your help in meeting and exceeding my expectations for my car. I highly recommend you to people I meet at Mopar Clubs and shows. Keep up the great work and I will see soon when i bring in my Z28 for work.

Hey Guys. How Have You Been?

Sorry it has taken so long to contact you but, I wanted to have some solid numbers on the stroker motor I purchased from you last year. Still haven't made it to the dnyo or the track but i can tell you this motor is awesome. I Have finally nailed down the timing and built a killer carb and can no longer get the rear wheels of my 86 Z28 to hook up. Even with all the modifications to the rear suspension and 10.5" wide drag radial the tires break loose in the first three gears of the 700r4. Waiting on my adjustable Torque arm, which should make me hook. I will contact you again when I have some numbers on the car or the motor. Either way, I just want to thank you for building such an awesome motor. This Kind Of Quality Craftsmanship, And honesty are hard to find. I'm glad I took the chance and placed my trust in you guys.

Bin a while boys, just dropping a note pictures later, is Santa come through, finally got my Biscayne and your motor together. Went to a little Halloween deal at Milan Michigan one pass closed headers stock 350 turbo transmission 3200 stall speed, 225 70 rear tires drove it up and back, 12.92 at 112mph and some change never touched the engine out of the box, nice work.

Hey guys this is Derek Hagner I bought a 383 Stroker (Edelbrock special) one of ten in Dec. of 03 and I'm extremely happy with it. You guys did a great job a matter of fact you have it posted under your chevy performance category, it's the one with the yellow block under main heading. Anyways I wanted to say thanks for everything, but I have a question. The engine sets in a 67 Camaro with a TH 400, 3000 stall, 1 7/8 super comp headers with 390 gearing and I'm in the 6000 to 6500 rpms and not even down the 1/8 mile, how far can I safely rev this combo? This engine was upgraded with keith black pistons and air gap intake. I've installed a digital rev limiter to protect the engine but it sure is pulling when it kicks in at 6500 rpm. If the engine can handle more revs do I need to upgrade the distributor to something that can withstand the rpms? Again the engine is awesome Doug did a great job. Thanks for all the help and hope the new shop is going smoothly.

took it to the track just last night 1/8 th of a mile track and guys i'm

telling you i got into my first race with a 1969 mustang with nitro....can

you believe this doug i race him twice the first time i beat him without him

spraying me...the second race he sprayed me from the whole i still jump him out the whole and when i went to second gear the race was over.......so i am so excited about this whole project.....and i have to thank you guys for the job that you'll did on my motor i love that 383 stroker......and one thing i want you'll to remember if i ever need something else done i'm calling on you'll.........i love it,i love it, dudes.....i got to take it to get the exhaust done on it this coming up tuesday. it sounds like a monster now i can't wait to here it next tuesday......when i get the car painted i'm gonna send you'll some pictures of it with the hood up and close.......thanks alot guys........i would recommend anybody to you'll......people are asking me who built your motor when i tell them it came out of new jersey you should see the expression on there face as if they might be scared to run me......

Everything seems to be fine engine looks great .  I Double checked everything before driving It.  I set the timing  properly and checked the fuel.  Seems to run very well.  It pulls nicely.  Haven't raced my brother in law yet but the guy who put the motor in says it pulls harder than his.  WE SHALL SEE!!!

Doug And Steve,

The engine looks like a work of art!!! You guys do really nice work!!! The only thing I'm not sure of is the oil pan. I can't completely tell, but is the sump in the front? If so, front lip of the pan where the bolt holes/gasket surface is. I can't really tell from the pictures, so it may actually be the same pan. If you could double check, I'd appreciate it. I don't really want to disturb your fine craftsmanship by having to change out the oil pan if it's not the right one. Besides, my oil pan has a big dent in it.

Once again, the engine looks hot!!! I absolutely can't wait to drop it in and fire it up. The hard part will be waiting a few thousand break in miles before opening up the throttle to see what that big boat is gonna do! LOL!

        Just to let you guys know we dropped the motor in our 85 Camaro 2 weeks ago and put a set of SLP headers on it . It sounds fantastic The throttle response is right there. We're still waiting for the trany delivery. The day we fired it up most of my friends came up to our house and were very impressed with what they saw and heard. thanks for your great service (1-1/2 weeks for a complete turn-key set up). I'll send you pictures when the car is complete .

      The Motor Looks Great Better Than I Expected. I Was Very Impressed With The Fast Turn Around And Service You Guys Provided For Me. After Getting Every Thing Hooked-Up I Pumped The Gas Twice And Turned The Key And She Fired Right Up Just Like You Said It Would. The Engine Sounds Great With A Little Rumble Just Like I Asked For.
